The algorithmic steps are presented for computation of formation temperature from data on the log header. Chapters 3–7 present to the user the general information and characteristics of the various well logs including what individual well logs are designed to measure and how tool measurements are converted to appropriate units needed for hydrocarbon production assessment. Each chapter presents well-log analysis for two well-known Cretaceous formations: Glen Rose and Frontier. Chapter 8 reviews the critically important “Archie Parameters” that subsequently are used in Chapter 9 to compute the water saturations of the Glen Rose and Frontier formations using the Archie water-saturation equation. In prior worksheets, the reader is guided to the determination that the Frontier formation is a shaly sandstone and therefore the specific methods of “shaly-sandstone analysis” are required. Chapter 10 is a review of additional techniques used to progressively refine interpretation of the two formations through well-log analysis. The techniques will be presented along with four case studies of the gas-bearing Woodford Shale and the three oil-bearing shales (Permian Leonard shale and two Permian Wolfcamp shales). Although the focus of the self-guided components of the monograph are generally restricted to a few select formations. The monograph includes considerable information and examples of, the well logs, host-rock properties (sandstones, shales, ...), and reservoirs within other formations discussed include: Ordovician Gunton; Devonian Marcellus; Mississippian Barnett, Chester, Mission Canyon; Pennsylvanian Canyon, Springer, Morrow, and Upper Morrow; Permian Bone Springs, Glorieta, and San Andres; Triassic Montney; Cretaceous Lewis, Pictured Cliffs, and Woodbine. George B. Asquith, Ph.D. is a Professor of Geosciences at Texas Tech University, Lubbock, Texas where he has been employed for over 24 years. Collectively, he has almost 40 years of experience in the oil and gas industry within academia and with both major and independent oil and gas corporations. His experience includes both exploration and production geology in the Gulf of Mexico (onshore and offshore), Rocky Mountains, and the Anadarko and Permian basins. He has authored or co-authored over 100 publications including the co-authoring of the immensely popular Basic Well Log Analysis published by the American Association of Petroleum Geologists. I don't care for the fact it's hard to color down where it's put together. Even if you flatten out as much as humanly possible, you can't get it done.I personally think the paper is plenty think enough.I only use colored pencil, and just white gel for high lighting. Don't use Gel Pens for coloring late areas....I get the idea that some pictures need to be on 2 pages but would rather it not be drawn in that manner.

I will attach a silent flip-through video to this review. The book in the video and in the photos are only of the US version of this book except photos where I show both books. In those cases, the UK version is at the top and the US version is at the bottom.I purchased both the UK and the US version of this book. I reviewed the UK version on Amazon on April 23rd of this year. As I noted at that time, I really enjoy Kerby Rosanes artwork which includes an unusual look at design and I have a really fun time coloring all the little odds and ends that make up the full design. I found that I actually liked Imagimorphia even more than Animorphia – which was difficult to do as I so enjoyed his first book in this series. It still has a good number of animals in it but it expands beyond them into other design concepts as well.So, the designs are great, as expected, but what about the publishing quality of the US published book? The UK version was published in exactly the same fashion as the UK version of Animorphia. I was dreading that might be the case with the US version as well. What actually arrived was a coloring book printed on a much heavier weight of paper than the US Animorphia book. It actually weighs slightly more than the UK version – either a slightly heavier paper or the slightly larger size of book – or a combination of both of these. The US version weighs in at 1.07 lbs. and the UK version weighs in at 1.03 lbs. The US version measures at 10 x 10 x 3/8 inches and the UK version is 9 7/8 x 9 7/8 x 3/8 inches.That is good and a great improvement since the last book but there are some more subtle differences in the publishing that still makes me prefer the UK version. If I didn't have access to the UK version, I would have been okay with the US one but I still would have been a little bit unhappy with a couple of issues. The two most important of these are the binding and the texture of the paper.The UK version has a sewn binding and the US is glue bound. The UK version has the design right into the binding and the US has a white strip (when you can get the book to fully open which is impossible for me on some of the pages.) Where this is most evident and least desirable is on two-page spread designs. Right in the middle of the design is a quarter inch strip of nothingness. I have no problem getting the pages to open on the UK version because they are sewn rather than glued. I did have to break the spine with a heavy crease, but I was able to get at all of the design without at white strip.The texture of the paper is important for me as I use colored pencils for my work (due to the double-sided printing and the leak-through of markers.) The US version of the book is very smooth – almost slick. The UK version of the book has a slightly smooth but with enough tooth for colored pencils. My pencils had more of a “smeary” type of look with the US version.Other small differences include color of paper and print. The UK is brighter white with darker print. The US is softer white with slightly lighter print. The covers are different in texture and color. The UK is matte black with glossy highlights on the designs and title. The US is a softer matte and there are no glossy highlights.The designs are all the same though there is a slight switch up of pages in the title and bookplate pages between the two versions.Here is what I experienced while coloring in this book and testing my various coloring medium.43 Different Designs in a variety of subjectsDesigns are printed on both sides of heavyweight soft white extremely smooth non-perforated paperMost designs spread across two pagesTwo page designs have a white strip running down both sides of the page at the bindingGlue BindingHad difficulty getting the book to open flat for coloringAlcohol-based markers bleed throughMost water-based markers bleed through spotty (exception was the brush end of my Tombows which did not bleed through)India ink pens left shadows on the back of the page.Gel pens did not leak through the paper.Coloring pencils do not do as well with this paper. The paper is extremely smooth and did not provide good tooth (or grip) for the color to adhere evenly. Both my wax and oil-based pencils provided a kind of smeary uneven color.

I couldn't wait to get this one. I am a huge fan of Mr. Rosanes's work. My main concern was the quality of the paper. I loved Animorphia, but the paper quality was very poor. Not this time! The pages are bright white and a good weight. Colored pencils will work perfectly, of course, and I believe Stabilo and Staedtler fineliners will also work well. If not, I shall update my review when I've had a chance to check that out. Many designs still span across two pages, but you can make the book lie pretty flat to make things easier. There are a good number that are confined to just one page. As always, this artist's artwork is phenomenal. I will never get bored coloring in this book!

Exceptional... That is all you can say about this mans work... Imagimorphia Highly Creative and a great book the pages are a little smooth for my pastels that I use for back Ground however the Pics are so great I'll find a way to deal with that....I would love to see this artist take his work and make an artist edition.... I would also like to see more natural type animals like this tiger.. This is an exceptional artist I just can't say enough about how imaginative this book is... Would Highly recommend, Would love to see an artist edition printed..

The artwork in this book is totally awesome. I'm giving it 5 stars - however, it's too much for my coloring style. I don't see me completing a single page BUT there is a lot of great coloring in it that I will enjoy doing. Don't let my review deter you from enjoying what's great about this book. Keep in mind it says EXTREME & it is. Enjoy the great things this book has to offer.UPDATE - If I had just glanced at this book at a store, I wouldn't have bought it. Got it from Amazon. If I could give it more stars, I would. I didn't think it was going to be "my style" whatever that means BUT I am so enjoying this book I had to come back & update my review. It keeps my imagination active & can use color pencils, gel pens & sharpies (if I'm not planning on coloring the other side). Enjoy

This book is one of my favorites for one reason....it's half way between no realism and too much realism. As my coloring progressed and I wanted to try shading and blending and a more realistic style, I found the whimiscal or zentangled books offering no illustrations that would allow me to try that. On the other hand, the truly realistic ones like the Kinkaid's were way too realistic. This book offers a bit of everything. Some images are truly whimsical while others have aspects you can truly color realistically, lots of times, you can do both on the same image.

Some of the reviews had me skeptical, but this seems to be a favorite of many internet colorists. Upon receiving and looking at it and basically pushing down to lay Flat!! (Sorry Ma! Serious No No. Breaking a binding!) I did see a small white line between pages on two fold spreads. Was Lucky on my issue so not a problem really as all lines do match up. Can be continued or matched up upon removing pages. May be a plus in that case. But the thickness of the pages is great! I do wish it was Single sides printing though. But price compared to other books makes this a winner. If I found myself wanting to frame one and was heartbroken over losing opposite side. Not price prohibiting enough to get another. The art is amazing the rest has thick enough pages to make a difference. I also received The Mythomorphia book. The line issue on two page spreads is much better than expected maybe they improved it. The can you see aspect is fun. The pages at back for that will be used for technique practice.
